  Department of Elemantry Mathematics Education Master`s Degree Program at the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences for the first timeduring the Spring Semester Academic Year 2012-2013 has started the admission of students.
Qualification Aawarded
  The students who have successfully completed all of the courses available in the schedule (total 240 ECTS credits) and achieved a CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) at least 2.00 out of 4.00 are given bachelor`s degree in Elementary Mathematics Education.

Profile Of The Programme
  The main purpose of the Department of Mathematics Education is to train teachers who have positive attitudes toward teaching and have professional skills in their field. Teacher candidates who have graduated from this department are expected to represent a true role model for their students in terms of their personal and professional life, to follow innovations in their fields to maintain a professional development and to have effective communication skills. This program aims to train teachers that understand entirely how students can learn, feel confident in using technology, have the problem-solving ability, regard the human rights, democracy and ethics. This program also emphasizes critical thinking, personal reflection and development of teacher candidates. Department of Mathematics Education offers undergraduate program and those who complete it can be employed in elementary schools as teachers. 
Examinations, Assesment And Grading Regulations
   SStudents are subjected to mid-term and final exams for each course. The contribution of mid-term exam is 40% and final exam is 60% to overall score. All exams are evaluated out of 100 points. Student are required to get at least 50 points in final exam. Students are regarded as successful if they get any letter grades such as (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB) and (CC). Students who fail must take the course again, there is no make-up exam.

Occupational Profiles Of Graduates
   Graduates can be employed in public or private elementary schools.
Access To Further Studies
 Graduates, who completed the undergraduate program successfully, take valid score in ALES exam and have sufficient knowledge in English language can study in postgraduate programs (master and doctorate).
