The Department of Mathematics at Amasya University was founded in 2002, and has been accepting undergraduate students since 2009. The department also offers a masters program both in pure and applied mathematics.

Upon succesfully completing all courses, students will be awarded with a BS degree in Mathematics.

Admission Requirements
Turkish citizens are placed into the department by The Assessment, Selection and Placement Center (OSYM) according to their Graduate Placement Exam (LYS) scores. The department also accepts aproximately 3 international students per year. See International Admissions for details.
Recognation of Prior Learning
Amasya University offers an English Proficieny Exam (EPE) in the begining of each academic year. Students who pass the EPE are exempt from taking Foreign Language I and II courses. In general, students can transfer credits from a mathematics course taken at another university after they obtain the approval of the department.
Profile of the Programme
The department was established within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences; and consists of one professor, four assistant professors, and seven research assistants. Our aim is to educate individuals conscious, thinking ethically and analytically, contributing to solutions of problems and who can contribute to science and technology at the international level.
Examinations, Assesment and Grading Regulations
There is at least one midterm, and a final examination from each course. The final grade, which must be at least 60 out of 100, is determined by a weighted average of the midterm (40%) and the final (60%).
Graduation Requirements
A major in mathematics requires a total of 240 ECTS credits of courses.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Our graduates can be employed by Ministry of Education as Mathematics teacher if they complete the required courses in the Faculty of Education focused on pedagogical content knowledge. Also, they can work as researchers at various public institutions, private institutions, and banks. Successful graduates will find the opportunity to work as a lecturer (or researcher) at universities.
Access to Further Studies
Upon successful completion of our department, students can continue their education in graduate programs providing an ALES score and an adequate knowledge of foreign languages.
