The Department of Turkish Language and Literature was founded in 2012. There are two aims of the Department: First, educating specialists on Turkish Language and Literature and preparing them for postgraduate education; second, preparing students as researchers on comperative studies in the field of Turkish dialects and literatures.There are 3 assistant professors, 2 research assistants the Department.

Recognation Of Prior Learning
The rules and regulations for recognition of formal prior learning are well defined. Transfer can be made among the institutions of which equivalency is recognized by Higher Education Council. Also successful vocational school graduates to continue their education to obtain Bachelor’s degrees if they are successful in the selection and the placement examination (DGS, i.e. vertical transfer examination) are admitted. The courses to be taken by these students are determined by the relevant department, on the basis of courses they have completed in the programs from which they have graduated. The students of the University of Amasya, some courses may be exempt under certain regulations. Course content from another institution, if the course content is appropriate with Amasya University, and relevant faculty / institute / college approved by the director, students may be exempted from this course.
Qualifications Requirements And Regulations
To obtain bachelor`s degree in Turkish Literature and Language, students in the department must complete a total of 240 ECTS in the Department of Turkish Literature and Language Education Programme successfully.
Profile Of The Programme

Examinations, Assesment And Grading Regulations
Students are subject to at least one midterm examination and final. Contribution to the final score of midterm is %40 and of final %60. Exams are graded over 100 and students must take at least 50 points in the final. As a result of these examinations, students with a grade of 60 or above are considered as successful on the course.   
Graduation Requirements
 Students who have completed the courses determined in the department programme and any internship or graduation projects specified in the Amasya University Undergradute and Graduate Education and Examination Regulations with success are regarded to have completed their university education.
Occupational Profiles Of Graduates
The graduates of the Department can work as experts in the Ministry of Culture, in Turkish Language Association or in archives of different instutitions. Furthermore they can work in related departments of TRT (Turkish Radio and Television Corporation).  
Access To Further Studies
The graduates of the department can apply for the graduate programmes.
